'Nearly invisible' UFO low flying over Illinois power lines

Oregon, Illinois. City of Oregon photo.

An Illinois witness traveling along Route 64 east of Oregon saw a "nearly invisible" UFO about 1,000 to 1,500 feet away and 600 to 800 feet above the power lines, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Oregon is a town in Ogle County along the Rock River, population 4,060.

The following is the unedited witness testimony from MUFON.

IL, August 26, 2009 - nearly invisible oval shaped object traveling over power lines. MUFON Case # 19064.

Was driving west on route 64 just east of Oregon,Illinois about 7:30pm. Caught the movement of this object as it traveled south at about 160-180 mph.

Was overcast, no direct sunlight...cloudy. This object was only viewable because of it's outline...it was the same color as the sky...like I was looking through it as if it was made of glass.

Was probably 1000ft-1500ft west of me....about 600ft-800ft above power lines...just high enough to see over the treeline(hilly terrain).watched it move south for about 5-6 seconds before I lost it in the treeline.

The scary part for me is....I don't think you could see something like that on a clear sun filled day...I could only see the edge of it...the outline as it moved...if it were still...I don't think i would have seen it.The edge that I could see was hazy...like heat shimmer off of pavement..but much more intense. Was as large as a 80-100 feet from edge to edge and about 30 feet from top to bottom.

Wow! I never even noticed it until I looked closer, that is bazaar!
Just how many are out there daily that we are not even seeing,I will be looking more at the sky!
I know there are people who just do not believe, but once you have seen them, you believe! I have seen them,"UFO"S... back in 1965 my family observed them in the sky for hours in amazement.

I saw in 1999 during a clear crystal blue summer sky a black triangle hovering near the G.W. Bridge. This Triangle was black
it didnt reflect any light from the sun.It had three plasma like
lights in each corner, no markings of any kind. This sort of things happens all the time even in big cities like N.Y.C. It's
just that folks don't look up and scan the skies for any unsual
    out of place things.

I had a conversation with an invisible alien once, i couldn't see it, or hear it, or smell or touch it for that matter, but it was there, he said he was god and could sell me a good prime mortgage!

I saw one just like this on Christmas night 1999 in Spring Hill, KS. It was a very clear cold night and it did kind of look like a piece of glass. You could see the shape (triangular), but it also looked transparant. I could either see through it, or it was some how able to display the image of what was above it on it's bottom. I haven't seen anything like it before or since.

A good method to use to scan the sky is to look (stare) at some fixed point, like the top branch of a tree, pole, etc. Don't concentrate on the fixed point, just use it to minimize your eye movement. Your peripheral vision is better at picking up a faint disturbance of a uniform background (i.e. the sky). Once your peripheral vision gets a hit, then immediately and instinctively look with your focused vision at what tripped off your visual alarm. Even if you can't see anything when directly looking at it, if your peripheral vision continues to alert you, then something is there.

The first UFO I saw was 2006 when I had moved to Australia. It was as you described in the article. I saw it indirectly as a translucent shadow on the ground - like a shimmering of water's shadow in a glass when illuminated. It was a sillouhette almost boomerang-shaped that seemed jellyfishlike, its hard to describe. Its like electricity was pulsing throughout it creating the cloak. I only noticed it as I was walking to my car after leaving a client's house. When I was walking it moved slowly which caught my eye on the ground ahead of me. I looked up to see the source of what was casting the shadow and I could see nothing. When I looked up though, it's almost as "they" noticed I found them and the figure of their craft on the ground started to move faster and faster then it just took off extremely fast. I looked up to where their trajectory was headed and I heard a jet engine-like sound but it was extremely faint. That's what prompted me to search the net for cloaked UFOs which has only served to confirm that's what I saw that day.
