Near-death experiences in the news for September, 2009

Here is a list of the news stories on near-death experiences for September, 2009.

Use of the term “near-death experience (NDE)”. A Google search of the term “near-death experience” displays a multitude of people using the term for businesses and products, along with people having accidents where they barely escaped death. Far fewer are the cases where people had a “special” experience that involved knowing they were dead and seeing people who had died. This “special” experience is referred to as an NDE. Close calls with death versus near-death experiences (NDEs). For this column, we will divide up the news into “recent close calls with death” and “near-death experiences (NDEs).
