The North Dakota State University men’s hockey team has now solidified their 2009-2010 schedule by adding two games. The Bison will play a pair of Tuesday night games against the Minnesota Flying Aces (Little Falls, Minn.) of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MJHL).
On December 1, the Flying Aces will travel to Fargo, North Dakota to seek revenge against NDSU. In Fargo last season, NDSU squeaked out a 4-3 overtime win. Freshman Corey Arones netted the game winning goal in the overtime session.
In the second half, the Bison will travel to Little Falls to take on the Flying Aces February 2. Last year, the Bison cruised to a 7-2 victory in Little Falls. The team used a great power play, scoring five times, to sweep the season series against the junior hockey team.
NDSU now has 34 games set for the 2009-2010 season, with 14 of those at home. The team is currently conducting preseason camp, and tryouts begin on September 15 at Southwest Ice Arena. Registration begins at 8:30 p.m. with on-ice beginning at 10:00 p.m.
Notes:
*Cameron Douglas, son of NDSU head coach John Douglas, plays for the Minnesota Flying Aces.
*NDSU opponent Minot State University-Bottineau has officially changed its name to Dakota College at Bottineau.
