NDP holds annual Catholic Schools Week fundraiser and other private school news

NDP Celebrates Catholic Schools Week with Pasta for the Philippines

Just as they have done annually for the past 20 years, the Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP) community marked Catholic Schools Week today with a spaghetti lunch to benefit needy children in the Philippines. Former religion teacher Jeff Goethals and his wife began the event, Pasta for the Philippines, in 1992. Twenty years later, its success is best understood in the numbers:

  • Over the years, the NDP community has consumed 9,500 pasta lunches in other words 2,000 pounds of pasta, 720 gallons of sauce and 4,000 baguettes.
  • Pasta for the Philippines has raised more than $39,000 or $1.7 million Philippine pesos for a student lunch program at the Saint Louis School in Tuguegarao (Northern Luzon), Philippines.
  • NDP has funded more than 350,000 lunches at the Saint Louis School.
