The fans of “NCIS” turn in every week to see Agent Gibbs and his group of agents get to the bottom of the murders and find the killers. While the twists and turns of every crime have people intently following along, it also offers up solid ratings for CBS. According to Forbes on Monday, the show “NCIS” is in the Nielsen top ten list of most viewed TV shows overall. CBS has five scripted shows in the top with “NCIS: Los Angeles” also getting honors of being highly viewed. The ratings not only help the network, but also the show as it could increase the production budget and motivate the writers for even better stories.

For television executives this is great news, but for the TV critics and fans the ratings have many people wondering why the show is so popular. Most folks believe the success is because of the characters. Viewers have their favorite character to watch and some fans have more than one individual who makes the episode worthy of viewing every week. Even rebroadcasts of “NCIS” brings in high ratings as seeing the show again offers a chance to spot details not previously seen on the first time.

So which character is the most popular on “NCIS”? While some might believe that it is Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, it appears that it might be Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto or Agent Anthony DiNozzo. Other fans might suggest it is how the team functions as a unit that makes the show worthy of tuning in every week. The answer of who is the favorite character reflects on the individual viewers, but it is safe to say there isn't a rotten character on "NCIS."

On Tuesday night, the rebroadcast of the episode "Devil's Triad" will have viewers watching for sure. There is a connection between Agent Gibbs' current girlfriend and FBI Agent T.C. Fornell's ex-wife. According to Broadway World on Tuesday, the complications arise when the team discovers a link between the murder victim and the familiar woman. Meanwhile, NSA Analyst Ellie Bishop adjusts to joining the NCIS team.
