The "NCIS" season premiere aired on Tuesday night and gave fans a sense of how things were going to go in preparation of Ziva's exit. On Sept. 26, FOX reported that it's revealed that Ziva David (played by actress Cote de Pablo) is targeted by a terror group. Could this be the reason that Ziva leaves "NCIS"? Definitely.
Things got pretty intense in the first episode of the season and it becomes clear that Ziva is in a great deal of danger. While there are other agents on a "hit list" of sorts, Ziva's name really seems to stick out -- but that could be because viewers are trying to figure out how she's going to exit the show "naturally."
The "NCIS" season premiere left a few holes to be filled in and with Ziva supposedly in a secret safe house, many believe that she's going to just fly under the radar since she has a huge target on her back. Next week is slated to be Cote de Pablo's last episode, so this all makes sense now... doesn't it? Ziva will just sort of disappear and never be heard from again. Or will she?
If this is how the writers worked in Ziva's exit, it's sort of brilliant. Why? Well, it opens things up for a possible Ziva return... even if it's a guest appearance. While Cote de Pablo just felt as though it was her time to move on, you never know how she will feel in a year or two. And maybe, just maybe, she will come back.
Did the "NCIS" season premiere set you up to say goodbye to Ziva? Are you sad that she's leaving the show?
