Both before and after his time as Samwise in "The Lord of the Rings" franchise, Sean Astin has been a freqent guest star on a myriad of various TV shows -- and now, he's coming to "NCIS."
According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Astin is set to appear in the same upcoming episode as Jamie Lee Curtis -- and he will play a similar role as a psychological operations investigator.
In a statement, here's what executive producer Gary Glasberg had to say about the news:
“I’ve been a big fan of Sean’s for years and this is a part we literally tailored for him. We couldn’t be happier to have Sean join us. Jamie’s character, Doctor Ryan, oversees a team of brilliant PsyOps agents and Sean will prove to be her go-to operative. We can’t wait to throw him into the mix, watch it develop, and have some fun.”
Curtis has been waiting for some time to jump on board the show -- she was originally supposed to tape a part last summer, but it was pushed back.
