Jackson Gibbs is back on "NCIS" in this week's episode, 11x07, "Better Angels," and it looks like Ralph Waite is going to be as entertaining as ever, if the sneak peek CBS released Monday, Nov. 4 is any indication.
In this next "NCIS" episode, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) leaves mid-case to help his father reconnect with a former war pilot, leaving Tony (Michael Weatherly) and McGee (Sean Murray) to argue over who should run lead on the investigation into a Marine Sergeant's murder. We already know that it's going to be amusing to watch Tony and McGee working without Gibbs to head slap them if necessary, but we never quite know what to expect when Jackson Gibbs shows up—and that's why we love it when he does.
The "Better Angels" sneak peek to the left shows Gibbs' phone ringing while he's at the crime scene, but while it reads "Dad" on the caller ID, Officer Mitchell with Howard County PD is on the line. Gibbs' concern about his father's well-being is alleviated when he hears his father threatening the officer in the background. "Oh yeah, you have him," Gibbs says. But what happened? There's been some sort of an incident, but we're going to have to wait until the episode airs to find out just what that incident is.
"NCIS" season 11 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS. What do you think of this episode 7 clip from "Better Angels"?
