NCIS' Pauley Perette voices Lois Lane in "Superman vs. The Elite"

Tonight's new NCIS finds the team investigating the murder of a Navy captain -- leading to a secret society of superheroes.  This episode may have given Pauley Perette, aka gothy yet perky forensic scientist Abby Sciuto, the experience she needed to land the job as the voice of Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman vs. The Elite with George Newbern back as the Man of Steel.

The DVD is based on 2001's Action Comics No. 775, as Superman takes on The Elite, vigilantes who doesn't live by the same moral code he does.  Though somewhat similar to his Dark Knight friend Batman, they're willing to do whatever it takes to take down what they believe to be the "bad guys" -- including murder, unlike the Caped Crusader, who walks the thin line between justice and revenge.

Enter Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane to help her superhero husband, who must find a way to stop The Elite without sacrificing what his principles.

"I think there are similarities between Abby and Lois" Pauley stated to TVGuide.com.  "They're both very smart and confident and really good at their jobs.  They're both really focused.  Abby just doesn't have a Superman."

NCIS fans would disagree, though, because Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is Abby's very own Superman who stands for truth, justice, and the American Way.

No word on when Superman vs. The Elite will be released, but it is expected to make its debut before July's Comic-Con International.
