"NCIS: New Orleans" has added another cast member to its already impressive cast list. According to The Hollywood Reporter on Feb. 10, the latest cast member is "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" star Lucas Black.
Black joins a cast that already includes former "Quantum Leap" and "Star Trek: Enterprise" actor Scott Bakula, who stars as the leader of the team. From the sound of it, he will play the same sort of role that Mark Harmon plays on the original "NCIS."
Lucas Black will play a "no-nonsense" NCIS agent named Lasalle whose motto is "work hard, play hard." The character description was that Lasalle is a longtime New Orleans resident.
Black has also appeared in movies like "Friday Night Lights" and "42" and is actually scheduled to appear in the upcoming "Fast & Furious 7." That makes sense because the movies were shot out of order and "Tokyo Drift" actually took place after "Fast 6" in the timeline.
It is assumed that Black's Agent Lasalle will be put alongside Zoe McLennan, a "JAG" veteran who will be playing a midwestern Agent who is a new transplant to New Orleans. Also in the cast is former "Shield" star C.C.H. Pounder as a medical examiner.
While the last planned "NCIS" spinoff, co-titled "Red" never got off the ground, the cast being built for "NCIS: New Orleans" looks solid enough to at least get past the pilot stage.
