As "NCIS: Los Angeles" fans will remember from the season 4 finale, the big conversations for Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) revolved around their problems with communication. Will that change in season 5? The spoilers TV Guide posted on Tuesday, Aug. 20 reveal that it will.
In the season 4 finale, "Descent," it all began for the "will they/won't they" couple with a disagreement about communication skills. "You never say what you mean," Kensi reiterated in frustration as she walked away from him while they had been watching Michelle with Sidorov. He surprised her with a kiss, their first as Kensi and Deeks and not for some undercover operation, leaving her speechless. "How's that for communication?" He asked, but she never responded, leaving to keep an eye on Michelle. As the episode ended, Deeks was being tortured for information on Sam's wife and not giving anything. So what's next?
According to executive producer Shane Brennan, "He fired something up in her," but that doesn’t mean that there's necessarily going to be more kissing. In fact, Eric Christian Olsen teased, "There are changes in these relationships because of these catastrophic events. Kensi and Deeks have one of the most heartbreaking scenes we've ever seen them do. It's one of the few times that Deeks is able to…say exactly what he means." Uh-oh. That could be good and bad. Perhaps he finally admits that yes, he has feelings for his partner that he would like to explore. However, could his experience being tortured mean that he won't necessarily be ready to do that just yet?
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 5 will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS this fall. What are you hoping to see from Kensi and Deeks after that kiss?
