"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 4 ended with a cliffhanger that could only be described as cruel and painful—and not just for Sam (LL Cool J) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), who were being tortured for information. Fortunately, the wait is almost over to find out what happens to them, and on Tuesday, Aug. 27, CBS released a promotional photo from the season 5 premiere, "Ascension."
As "NCIS: LA" season 4 ended, Sam and Michelle (Aunjanue Ellis) had been undercover in Sidorov's (Timothy V. Murphy) gang and the team had trusted Janvier (Christopher Lambert) of all people as they tried to intercept the sale of stolen nuclear weapons. However, Callen (Chris O'Donnell) made the mistake of not checking Janvier thoroughly and he was able to relay the message to Sidorov that Sam was really an agent. Sidorov was torturing him and Deeks, who had given himself up to save Sam as he drowned, to find out if "Quinn," aka Michelle, was also an undercover agent. Neither was giving in though.
When season 5 begins with "Ascension," the NCIS: LA team is trying to not only find the missing team mates, but to also find those stolen nuclear weapons. The new season 5 photo above and to the left shows Eric (Barrett Foa), Hetty (Linda Hunt), Callen, and Nell (Renée Felice Smith) in the Ops Center. Plus, check out the slideshow for photos from the 100th episode celebration. The 100th episode will be the fourth episode to air.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 5 will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS, beginning Sept. 24. What do you think of the season 5 premiere "Ascension" photo?
