The "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 5 premiere picked up right where last season's finale left off, but by the end of "Ascension," we had jumped forward four months. But just because time has passed doesn't mean everyone's over their traumatic experiences, and Nate (Peter Cambor) is returning in episode 2, "Impact," to help. On Monday, Sept. 30, CBS released a new promotional photo from the episode offering a first look at the Operational Psychologist's return.
In this week's "NCIS: LA," Hetty (Linda Hunt) brings Nate in to help Sam (LL Cool J) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) cope with their traumatic experience in an effort to help them return to work. While both did manage to help close the case on Sidorov as the premiere ended despite what they went through, Deeks had admitted that he wasn't sure about being a cop anymore to Sam and had told Kensi that he needed time away as he packed a box, cleaning up some things at the office.
The preview for "Impact" shows that Deeks isn't just bouncing back after what he went through, and Hetty seems worried he won't be the man he was before it. Will Deeks be able to go back to work? The new 502 photo to the left shows Nate talking to Sam, who, because of his history, is likely going to have an easier time adjusting. The preview does show him back at work already, but that doesn't mean he couldn't use someone to talk to like Nate.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 5 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS. What do you think will happen in episode 2 "Impact"?
