'NCIS: Los Angeles' 5x21 sneak peek: Densi banter is back, plus box talk

If you've been missing the "Densi" banter ever since Kensi (Daniela Ruah) was reassigned to Afghanistan, it is back in full force in this week's "NCIS: Los Angeles," episode 521, "Three Hearts," if the sneak peek CBS released Monday, April 14, is any indication.

In this week's episode, the team will be trying to figure out if an undercover agent is working for the smuggler he should be investigating when they take him into custody. The promo released already teases how that's going to go.

Meanwhile, Kensi is back in the field with Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) for this case, and it's time for them to have the talk that's been put on pause since the end of "The Frozen Lake" before she was reassigned. What did happen that night after they left the restaurant and before Kensi showed up at work wearing the same shirt as the previous day?

The "Three Hearts" sneak peek shows the start of the day as Kensi arrives at work, and after what she went through in Afghanistan, it's really good to see her smiling as she watches Deeks at his desk. She joins him with a warning to not cut himself because he "can't nervously style that mop without any fingers." But don't worry, kid's got skills. Besides, "There's nothing to be nervous about because I have my partner back," he explains, and she agrees with, "and it feels good." "It feels right," he adds. The band is officially back together. Has anyone else missed that banter?

"What's in the box?" He asks, steering the conversation in a slightly different direction. He doesn't get an answer, only more banter, but what's really important is that Kensi is back, at her desk, and it's like she never left. More importantly, Deeks is ready to make plans for that night, only to be interrupted by Eric's whistle. They have a case.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 5 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS. What do you think of this episode 21 "Three Hearts" clip?
