This episode of "NCIS: LA" is trying to launch a new spin-off for the franchise. The "NCIS: Red" spin-off would focus in on the Red team, or the NCIS mobile unit. This team will go to crime scenes involving Navy or Marine personnel that are located in an area not covered by a field office. This sneak peeks shows Callen and Hanna arriving at the mobile unit's location and meeting the Red team, who is led by Paris. Kim Raver is the woman behind that character.
Shane Brennan, the man behind the series, spoke about the differences fans will see between "NCIS: Red" and the two other series in the franchise in a new interview with TV Line. He said the following:
"The humor and the camaraderie of the team working together is front and center — that is clearly the main ingredient of the success of the NCIS franchise. But this has a cherry on top. Because they are living together, it’s much more intense, it’s much more of a pressure-cooker environment. They don’t get to leave the office; they get to go to their bedroom or they go to the kitchen and start cooking dinner."
The Red team will also be the focus of episode 4.19, and the series moving forward on CBS will depend on the fan reaction to the new team. Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
It's Tuesday! Happy Callen Day! #NCISLA #NCISLAFamilia #TeamCallen
"NCIS: LA" will continue to air on Channel 5 in Tempe on Tuesday nights.
