The fans of “NCIS” aren't giving up on hearing from Ziva David on an upcoming episode. The character became a staple of the crime series and was loved by the fans. Then at the end of Season 10 and the beginning of Season 11, it was Ziva’s time to be written out of the script as Cote de Pablo decided to depart on her own terms. According to Broadway World on Thursday, the upcoming episode called “The Admiral's Daughter” doesn’t have the star in the lineup, despite rumors that the star might return to the show before the season finale.
Fans have been gossiping every week there is a new episode that Ziva David might return for a portion of the show. Then, after the show airs, they seem to take out their frustration on Emily Wickersham who plays NCIS Probationary Agent Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop. Emily Wickersham is the newest member of the “NCIS” cast and the star who is continuously brought up as the actor who has “taken” Cote de Pablo’s job on message boards
While the idea that one actress has overrun another is nothing more than rumors, it was Cote de Pablo who decided to leave the show. Fans haven’t really accepted the idea of the actress moving on and some people are even suggesting her lack of presence is tanking the ratings.
For "NCIS" stars Michael Weatherly and Sean Murray, they noticed their character’s depended on the third woman character. Buzzfeed reported that the “bromance” on camera had the two actors realized they work best with a strong female character as part of their sleuthing on TV. This happened before with Cote de Pablo’s character and it is happening now with Emily Wickersham’s character.
So the big question is when will the “NCIS” fans let go of the past and embrace what is on the show today? Always hoping for Cote de Pablo to return and not accepting that Emily Wickersham is a strong enough actress to embrace a part on the show seems slightly unfair.
“NCIS,” airs on CBS Tuesday night with the season finale airing May 13.
