NCAA Top 25: TCU hands no. 5 Kansas second straight loss in 55-62 upset

The University of Kansas Jayhawks were stunned by the TCU Horned Frogs on Wednesday night Feb. 6, 2013, as their conference competitors handed the top five nationally ranked school their second straight loss in a 55-62 upset.

In a low scoring first half TCU's defense and poor shooting from the Jayhawks saw them score only 13 points against the Horned Frogs 22.

The second half was much more lively with Kansas scoring 42 and TCU 40, but the damage had already been done as once again the powerhouse was defeated in the past seven days.

Ben McLemore was the bright spot for Kansas as the point guard had 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists, but despite his best efforts it was not enough to bring his team back to a winning position.

TCU's Garlon Green led his team on the night with 20 points and set the pace as his strong performance helped to see his school get the big upset of the night.

The victory sees TCU earn their first Big 12 conference win of the season giving them a record of one win and eight losses so far. It may not have helped them reach the NCAA tournament in March, but it will certainly give them a few bragging rights for at least a day or two.
