The pairings for all NCAA men’s early season basketball tournaments were announced on Aug. 8.

This article is part one of four articles that will rank all 23 NCAA Exempt Tournaments. This article will look at the tournaments, #16-23.

16. Emerald Coast Classic

The Emerald Coast Classic will take place on campus sites (Nov. 20-25) and Niceville, Fla. (Nov. 28-29). There are eight teams in this tournament split into two brackets (Hosts and Visiting Teams).

Cincinnati, Creighton, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi are in the Hosts Teams. Eastern Illinois, North Carolina Central, Northern Arizona and Southern are the Visiting Teams.

Semifinals: Eastern Illinois vs. N.C. Central and Southern vs. Northern Arizona; Middle Tennessee vs. Cincinnati and Creighton vs. Mississippi.

Best semifinal matchups: Southern vs. Northern Arizona; Creighton vs. Mississippi.

Best potential finals matchup: Northern Arizona vs. N.C. Central; Creighton vs. Cincinnati.

17. Diamond Head Classic

The Diamond Head Classic is an eight team tournament that takes place in Honolulu, Hawaii (Dec. 22, 23 and 25). All games will be televised on ESPN’s family of networks.

The teams participating include Colorado, DePaul, George Washington, Hawai’i, Loyola Marymount, Nebraska, Ohio and Wichita State.

Quarterfinals: Ohio vs. George Washington, DePaul vs. Colorado, Loyola Marymount vs. Wichita State, Nebraska at Hawai `i.

Best quarterfinal matchup: DePaul vs. Colorado

Most intriguing potential semifinal matchup: Wichita State vs. Nebraska.

18. Corpus Christi Coastal Classic

The Corpus Christi Coastal Classic features eight teams that will play campus sites ( Nov. 17-25) and in Corpus Chrisiti (Nov. 28-29). The eight teams are split into Hosts Teams and Visiting Teams. Some games will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

The Host's Teams are Bradley, Mississippi State, Saint Louis and TCU. The Visiting Teams are Clayton State, Mississippi Valley, North Carolina A&T, Radford and Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Visitor’s Semifinals: TBA

Host’s Semifinals: Bradley vs. TCU, Mississippi State vs. Saint Louis.

Best semifinal matchups: /Saint Louis vs. Mississippi State

Most intriguing finals matchups: /St. Louis vs. TCU

19. The Wooden Legacy

The Wooden Legacy will take place from Nov. 27- 30 and features eight teams. Games will be played in Fullerton, Calif., and Anaheim, Calif.

The teams involved include Long Beach State, Princeton, San Diego, San Jose State, UTEP, Washington, Western Michigan and Xavier.

Quarterfinal matchups: Princeton vs. UTEP, San Diego vs, Xavier, Long Beach State vs. Western Michigan and San Jose State vs. Washington.

Best quarterfinal matchup: San Diego vs. Xavier

Best potential semifinal matchup: Princeton vs. Xavier

20. Gulf Coast Showcase

The Gulf Coast Showcase features 8-to-12 teams with some teams still to be announced . The tournament will take place on campus sites and at Ft. Myers (Fla.) (Nov. 24-26).

The tournament is still finalizing their teams.

The known teams are from the Florida Bracket, which includes East Carolina, Evansville, Florida Gulf Coast, Fresno State, Green Bay, Marist, San Francisco and a TBA team.

21. Cancun Challenge

The Cancun Challenge will involve eight teams that will be played on campus sites (Nov. 19, 20, 22, 30) and in Cancun, Mexico, (Nov. 25 and 26). Some games will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

The teams participating are Miami (Ohio), Northern Iowa, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, Elon, Liberty, Morgan State and North Florida. The eight teams are split into the Mayan Division and the Riviera Division.

Mayan Division semifinals: Morgan State vs. Elon, North Florida vs. Liberty

Riviera Division semifinals: Virginia Tech vs. Northern Iowa, Miami vs. Northwestern.

Best semifinal matchup: North Florida vs. Liberty, Virginia Tech vs. Northern Iowa

Best potential Final matchup: Liberty vs.Elon, Virginia Tech vs. Northwestern

22. Las Vegas Classic

The Las Vegas Classic will take place on campus sites (TBA) and in Las Vegas (Dec. 22-23). The eight tournament teams are split into Hosts Teams and Visiting Teams. The Semifinals and finals will be televised by Fox Sports 1.

The Host's Teams are Boise State, Houston, Loyola of Chicago and Texas Tech while the Visiting Teams include Abilene Christian, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, South Carolina State and Southern Utah.

Visitor’s semifinals: Arkansas-Pine Bluff vs. Southern Utah and Abilene Christian vs. South Carolina State.

Host’s semifinalist: Texas Tech vs. Loyola of Chicago and Houston vs. Boise State.

Best semifinals matchup: Abilene Christian vs. South Carolina State/Houston vs. Boise State.

Most intriguing finals matchup: Arkansas-Pine Bluff vs. Abilene Christian/ Texas Tech vs. Houston.

23. Great Alaska Shootout

The Great Alaska Shootout will take place in Anchorage, Alaska, and features eight teams. The tournament will run Nov. 26-29 and a few games will be televised by CBS SportsNetwork.

Alaska-Anchorage (D-II), Colorado State, Mercer, Missouri State, Pacific, Rice, UC Santa Barbara and Washington State are the teams participating.

Quarterfinals: Pacific at Alaska-Anchorage and Missouri State vs. Colorado State are in the top bracket while Rice vs. Mercer and Washington State vs. UC Santa Barbara are in the bottom bracket.

Best quarterfinal matchup: Missouri State vs. Colorado State.

Best potential semifinal matchup: Pacific vs.Colorado State.
