NCAA football bowl schedule opening day is here. The first of the 2013-14 college football bowl games take place on Saturday (Dec. 21). The schedule has Washington State vs. Colorado State in the New Mexico Bowl at 11 a.m. PT to start it off. An updated report from ESPN on Saturday has the WSU Cougars favored by 5 1/2 points in the latest odds. It's the first time that the two schools have played against each other, setting up an interesting match-up. WSU is 6-6 and CSU is 7-6 so far this year.
There are four games in total for Saturday, giving college football fans a tease of what will come later in the postseason. For fans of the eight teams playing, though, it is a very exciting day that been a long time coming. Two ranked teams will play in the Las Vegas Bowl at 12:30 p.m. PT, with No. 25 Fresno State vs. No. 25 USC likely the highlight of the day for the nation. Fresno State is 11-1 so far and hails from the Mountain West, while USC is 9-4 from the Pac-12 Conference.
The other two games are Buffalo vs. San Diego State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and Tulane vs. LA-Lafayette in the New Orleans Bowl. Those games begin at 2:30 p.m. PT and 6 p.m. PT respectively. Both games will be on ESPN with live stream capabilities provided through the Watch ESPN application. The New Mexico Bowl will also be on ESPN earlier in the day, with the Las Vegas Bowl to be shown on ABC.
