Thursday's NCAA football 2013 live stream and television schedule includes one ranked team in action, as the No.8-ranked Louisville Cardinals will host the unranked, but high-scoring, Rutgers Scarlett Knights. The game will put Louisville to the test defensively, as they look to stay undefeated and stay in the top ten. Tonight's Rutgers vs. Louisville game will be among the televised and live stream NCAA football games presented by ESPN in week 7.
An ESPN.com report from Oct. 10 indicates that Rutgers comes into this game averaging 40 points per game so far on the season. In their last game, the Scarlet Knights managed to outlast a tough 55-52 game at Southern Methodist in overtime. That was good enough to improve Rutgers to 4-1 on the season, so far. However, Louisville is averaging 44 points per game, good for twelfth in the nation. Their defense is just as good, ranking first overall, as they've only allowed 6.8 points a game. Will the Cardinals be able to keep this high-scoring Rutgers team at bay en route to a 6-0 record?
Louisville head coach Charlie Strong told the media on Monday:
"It's going to be a good test for us. If our guys take the time and put in the time and understand just how important this game is, then we'll be on track."
Louisville hasn't exactly played a tough schedule so far. Their previous wins have included dominant performances against Eastern Kentucky, Florida International, and last week, Temple. Their closest win was a 27-13 victory at Kentucky, while their most impressive might be scoring 72 points against FIU. However, in today's game they could be without one of their top receivers in DeVante Parker, who has a right shoulder injury.
Rutgers hasn't looked too bad so far, although they were edged out by a point in overtime by Fresno State for their opening contest. Since then, they've dispatched of Norfolk State 38-0, Eastern Michigan 28-10, Arkansas 28-24 and of course last week's win at SMU. The Scarlet Knights do have one possible edge, and that could be scoring, as Louisville may not be able to keep up, without their leading receiver playing.
Odds makers have given Louisville a point spread of 19 points for today's game, with a line of -115. Rutgers has a line of -105 to -115 at various books. The over/under is set around 56 to 57 points, depending on the sports book. Weather should be temperatures in the low 50's to high 70's across the day, with 0% chance of precipitation for Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Louisville.
