The NCAA football 2013 live stream and television schedule kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 29 with the first games of the brand new season. Among them, one of the top ranked teams in all of the nation will be in action, as a featured North Carolina vs. South Carolina matchup takes place in the evening. Fans will be able to watch the Tarheels and Gamecocks compete on TV or via NCAA live stream football video feed thanks to the ESPN sports networks.
According to a USA Today report on Aug. 29, South Carolina is currently ranked No. 7 in the USA Today poll, while they're as high as No. 6 in the AP Top 25 poll. The Gamecocks are favored to win this rivalry matchup by 12 points, with the last time the two teams met, 1991. South Carolina will look to quarterback Connor Shaw, and wide receiver Bruce Ellington, if he can play through his hamstring issue effectively. Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is also one to watch in this matchup, after recording a highlight hit against Michigan in last season's Outback Bowl.
According to an ESPN.com report, UNC offensive line coach, Chris Kapilovic, said of the Gamecocks' defensive line during a phone interview:
"I’d love to have a couple games under our belt before playing them because they’re an outstanding defensive line. It’s more than just Clowney. Those other guys are really good. That’s probably the best defensive line we’ll face since I’ve been here. But our guys understand the challenge, and they’ve worked extremely hard. We’re going to have to be sharp and do a good job schematically."
In 2012, UNC finished with an 8-4 record overall, going 5-3 in the ACC and they were dealing with penalties imposed for sports agent violations discovered in a previous season. Due to those sanctions, they found themselves ineligible for any bowl play or postseason play whatsoever, including the ACC Championship Game.
The Tarheels are unranked heading into this game tonight, but have an experienced quarterback in Bryn Renner, with targets like Quinshad Davis and Eric Ebron to throw the ball to, should South Carolina's defense go after him. While the Tarheels are currently unranked, they received votes in both the USA Today and AP Top 25 polls, and could be a team to watch from the ACC this coming season.
Tonight's North Carolina vs. South Carolina game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Televised coverage will be available on ESPN via cable or satellite services. To watch the NCAA game live streaming online, customers of ESPN on cable or satellite with access to WatchESPN service can watch via their laptop or mobile devices.
