NBC to deliver ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ in May

NBC Rosemary's Baby

Coming this May, Zoe Saldana will spawn Satan’s kid in the Roman Polanski remake chiller “Rosemary’s Baby.’ This time around Saldana will play the role of Rosemary Woodhouse which was originated by Mia Farrow in the 1968 psychological thriller. USA network’s ‘Suits’ actor, Patrick J. Adams will play the role of her husband Guy Woodhouse.

Based on the Ira Levin’s 1967 suspense novel, the four-hour miniseries will tell the story of a young woman who is unknowingly pregnant with the Antichrist and plagued by meddlesome neighbors who do know. Unlike the movie, the setting will take place in Paris instead of New York. However, just like the movie, Guy and Rosemary are targeted by a satanic cult lead by deceptively friendly neighbors, Roman and Minnie Castevet.

In the 1968 movie, Ruth Gordon gave such an outstanding performance as Minnie Castevet, it garnered her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, making the film the only horror movie to receive an Oscar for lead or supporting role until 1991’s ‘The Silence of the Lambs.’
