NBC's 'The Voice': Tony Lucca talks picking Adam Levine over Christina Aguilera

If you think back to earlier in "The Voice" blind auditions, then you will remember Tony Lucca -- a man with a rather suprirising past connection to Christina Aguilera as a former member of "The Mickey Mouse Club." However, he actually ending up teaming with Adam Levine as his coach.

So what did Lucca had to say about this choice? Speaking in an interview with "Access Hollywood," here is what Tony had to say on the subject of his coach:

“Aside from ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’ element with Christina, Adam seemed like the most natural fit for me ... I’m a rocker at heart, I’m a guy with a guitar and came up playing a lot of the same venues and clubs that Adam and his band [Maroon 5] did in the early years, so I think there’s a bit of a shorthand that we could develop or easily have, with me being on his team.”

To Lucca's credit, Christina actually didn't recognize or remember him until after he walked on the stage -- and then she greeted him with a hug.
