NBC's 'The Voice,' Super Bowl XLVI set records in new viewer figures

The final ratings have come in, and it appears that "The Voice" can now celebrate having the highest-rated TV program of any kind (not including awards shows, sporting events, or news events) in six years.

  • For its hour-long run time, "The Voice" drew an incredible 16.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic along with over 37 million total viewers. This is the best rating since "Grey's Anatomy" back in 2006. (The viewership was down slightly from "Undercover Boss" back in 2010.
  • Meanwhile, the Super Bowl itself is now being called the most-watched telecast ever on American television with 111.3 million total viewers. It's a staggering number, and it shows that having two east-coast teams did not really impact much at all.

Are you stunned by these numbers?
