NBC's 'The Voice': Simon Cowell claims coaches lack qualifications

"The Voice" has quickly found itself as the biggest success of 2012 thus far, and Simon Cowell does not seem to be altogether happy for the show's high ratings.

As a part of his lengthy "Extra" interview (which is the same one where he opened up about all of the "X Factor" changes), Simon went on the offensive about whether or not the show's four coaches actually had the experience necessarily to turn their contestants into real stars:

"I would ask how many records have they made, how many artists have they discovered? ... That’s where we have to be different on the judging panel. It’s very important that you have people on the panel that have actually signed and made artists successful all over the world, not just have made hit records yourself.”

Unfortunately for Simon, the success of "The Voice" does make his comments sound a bit different than if it was getting lower ratings than "The X Factor" -- an while he may have a point that none of the "Voice" stars from season 1 have made an impact, the viewers are clearly enjoying it.
