We think you're near Los Angeles

NBC's 'The Office' season 8: Jenna Fischer has a new friend

With Steve Carell now out of "The Office," we are going to get more of an opportunity to check out some more people associated with our favorites at Dunder-Mifflin. We know already that we are going to be Andy Bernard's family at some point during the show's eighth season -- and now, we can say for sure that we are going to meet one of Pam's pals.

According to TVLine, Lindsey Broad (whose credits include "'Til Death" and "The Burg") has been cast for a potentially-recurring role as Kathy, a close friend of Pam's that is only described as "likable." We already have to think she is going to get involved in life in Scranton somehow, either as a new worker or a potential love interest to someone (and we are hoping Kevin since his romantic life has not been discusses in several seasons).

"The Office" easily has one of their biggest challenges moving forward, as it will have to prove to everyone that it can still be funny, and that James Spader will be a fantastic enough addition that he (alongside whoever the new branch manager is) will be able to make up for Carell's exit.
