Even though Katharine McPhee's character Karen on "Smash" did not exactly end up landing the role of Marilyn Monroe, it appears as though the character is still going to have plenty of involvement in the play moving forward.
According to a new report from TV Guide, we are pleased to report that we will see plenty of Karen on the show moving forward -- but it will be as a member of the chorus rather than just as the lead role of Marilyn.
However, that does not mean that Karen's dream is necessarily over. As we've previously reported, there is still going to be some heavy competition for the role of Marilyn moving forward -- including a movie star (Uma Thurman) who the producers are interested in from a financial perspective.
