NBC's 'Chuck' alum, 'Superman' Brandon Routh joins CBS comedy pilot

We got the opportunity to see Brandon Routh fairly recently on "Chuck" reprising his old villain named Daniel Shaw -- and before that, the actor took on quite possibly the most heroic role of all for "Superman Returns."

Now, Routh is branching out again courtesy of a new comedy pilot for CBS called "Partners" -- which is coming from the same folks as "Will & Grace." According to a new report from Deadline, Routh has been cast to play the role of the boyfriend of Michael Urie's character -- a man named Louis who spends so much time with his straight friend that many think they are togheter.

While CBS does not have much room for new comedies thanks to some hit shows (which is a good problem to have), we still think there is some promise here for things to work out based on talent alone.
