NBC Green Lights 60's drama: IRONSIDE with Blair Underwood

Blair Underwood has taken on many characters from over the years from sexy boyfriend of Miranda in Sex and the City to powerful roles in LA Law. In Underwood’s newest role he will be wheelchair bounds as he takes on the remake of the late 60’s classic IRONSIDE.

Ironside is the story about a police detective who ends up in a wheelchair after a shooting. The police drama starred Raymond Burr who was also famously known as the savvy lawyer in the Perry Mason series.

Ironside aired on NBC from 1967 to 1975 and the remake will continue on NBC. NBC has given the green light to this as a pilot according to the Hollywood reporter with Michael Caleo as writer and executive producer for the drama.

Blair Underwood’s character will add a sense of sarcastic flare and style to the role and push his team to solve some of the most difficult cases in San Francisco.

Blair Underwood has been nominated for several Golden Globe awards and he has received three NAACP Image awards over the years.
