"Law and Order: SVU" has a very loyal and significant fan base. It has been on the air for over a decade and it still continues to bring fresh story lines to viewers. NBC put out a new series created by Dick Wolf called "Chicago P.D." which airs directly after "Law and Order: SVU." Wolf is a genuis and has several successful shows including the "Law and Order" franchise. According to a Jan. 19 report from E! Online, the two shows will have a crossover event at the end of February. Sophia Bush of "Chicago P.D." and Mariska Hargitay from "Law and Order: SVU" will be working together in New York and Ice-T and Kelli Giddish will head to Chicago to work on the same case.
"Chicago P.D." is only two episodes into the season and already fans are fired up at the potential it has. Fans of "Chicago Fire" have jumped over to check out the sister show and many are looking forward to having these shows meld together at points. Having the first big crossover with something like "Law and Order: SVU" will bring recognition to the newer show, though it doesn't seem like much is needed. Reports say that the case is being investigated by both teams and the only way to solve what happened is to work together in New York and Chicago.
Sophia Bush is headed out to New York to film her portion with the "Law and Order: SVU" team and there is no word when Ice-T and Kelli Giddish will be filming their roles. The event is set to take place February 26 at 9 p.m. CST. This is one television event you won't want to miss!
