NBC cancels shows just a couple of weeks into their Fall lineup and many fans are disappointed. On Oct. 18, Web Pro News reported that "Welcome to the Family" and "Ironside" have both been canceled by the network. Instead of taking on new shows or really shuffling their lineup, NBC will air shows that are already on and already have a good following.
"Welcome to the Family" aired as part of NBC's Thursday night lineup. Taking its place will be a second episode of "Parks and Rec" (Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman). "Ironside" with Blair Underwood will air once more before it is taken out of NBC's lineup. "Dateline" will replace it.
NBC cancels shows every now and again when ratings aren't up. Sometimes fans get lucky and their shows don't get canceled until the end of the season -- which is still disappointing but at least viewers get to see the whole intended season. Even still, having one of your favorite shows get canceled isn't cool -- and people have been on social media sites expressing their frustration.
"The reason behind the untimely departure of both shows from the network’s lineup has not been disclosed at this time; however, this has not stopped fans from voicing their disappointment at having these shows cancelled," Web Pro News reports.
