NBC cancels 'Heroes,' 'Mercy,' 'Trauma,' and 'Law & Order' -- officially

NBC announced much of their fall schedule on Friday, and it meant some bad news for some of its dramas.

  • "Heroes" is probably the most shocking departure, and it's really not even that shocking when you consider that the season finale only brought in 4.4 million viewers. Never have I seen a show with such a great premise (and a solid first season) die both critically and in the ratings so fast. It was really all about writing, and the show couldn't keep it consistent.
  • "Mercy" and "Trauma" are two first-year dramas to get the drama. While some believed "Mercy" would get another shot, the latter (with its high drama) has been doomed since the fall.
  • The network also confirmed that after 20 seasons, "Law & Order" is officially dead.

NBC also announced a number of new shows, including a drama by renowned TV guru David E. Kelley.

Will you miss any of these shows? Let me know your thoughts below.

I absolutely hate that they are doing away with Mercy. One of the best medical shows I have seen. It's a shame

I agree, I got into Mercy and now they cancelled it. Something stupid will be put on in its place.

OMG.. I was looking forward to more Mercy and Trauma.. can't believe they have been canned. They are really good shows with lots of drama and comedy elements thrown in. I live in the UK where tv shows are allowed to grow on the audience, unlike America where they are yanked off near enough straight away if they don't grab the viewers from the bat. What a pity as these 2 shows had so much potential.. I suppose the almighty $$$ wins yet again, over the viewers who love the shows. Not surprised with Heroes tho, that Carnival storyline was way too boring.

Mercy is ok but I loved Trauma! This is how the stupid networks always do, get people into a show and the just drop it!!!!!!

I don't watch much tv but i just got into heroes and watched the first season non stop! it was awesome. Now im just finishing the second and nothing has happened and for some reason i don't like any of the characters anymore. It's a pity thats it's been canceled and even more disappointing that there is no promise in the episodes i haven't watched.

I just finished watching season 4 of heros and I am looking forward to seeing another season of heros. It makes me wonder what is going to happen next. I watched heros one right after another cause I wanted to know what happened next. I will be really angry if there is not a season 5 to heros.
