NBAFIT Event with the Brooklyn Nets

The last week of January, the NBA, WNBA & D-League, its teams, and players held their NBA FIT Live Healthy Week, encouraging kids, adults and families to be physically active and live a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the week of Jan 24- Feb 1 the league joined their fans and partners in an effort to support health education and host nutrition and fitness related events and programs. The Brooklyn Nets held their fitness event at the Farragut Community Center on Tuesday January 29th with more than 60 children ranging in age from 5-16 provided by Goodwill Farragut Cornerstone and local grade schools. The children had a chance to partake in capoeira provided by Allied Capoeira Arts Initiative, boot camp and step dance with Nets players Joe Johnson, Marshon Brooks, Reggie Evans, Gerald Wallace and team mascot The Brooklyn Knight.

Nets will continue to engage the boroughs youth in activities monthly as part of their “Brooklyn Fit” initiative, a partnership with Body Sculpt of New York, the Brooklyn Nets Assist Community Program and the American Dairy Association.
