The NBA trade deadline continues to edge closer as teams from around the league are looking at the pieces they have yet to acquire for their best puzzle of success. According to reports from Steven Kyler of HoopsWorld on Jan. 16, 2013, it appears that the Orlando Magic could be sending several guards out the door in the coming weeks.
Both Jameer Nelson and J.J. Redick are said to be drawing interest claims Kyler. Despite a solid performance from the two of them in the Magic's latest defeat where Nelson scored 19 points and added 12 assists while Redick had 12 points off the bench, the two are both potential trade bait this month.
Nelson is averaging a career high 14.8 points per game and seven assists per game and the appeal of his stats could be enough to attract interested and multiple offers.
Redick as always remains a danger from behind the three point line off the bench and is averaging career high statistics as well at 14.5 points per game and 6.5 assists per game. His expiring contract could see him be a solid pick up for teams looking for that extra range off depth provided by his skill set in a run to the playoffs and allow Orlando to get something of value in return.
