NBA Trade Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves set to make deals for playoff push

The NBA trade deadline is officially a month away as of this morning, Jan. 21, 2013. The most recent reports in regards to the Minnesota Timberwolves from ESPN Radio 1500 anchor Darren Wolfson has the team looking to make some deals in order to push for the playoffs:

(David) Kahn was aggressively working the phone Wednesday and Thursday way more than normal for mid-January and is making some progress on a trade. The source said it's for more of a big guy, not a wing.

There are no official reports of a specific player to be traded in order to start the process going forward. However, the continued injury absence of big man Kevin Love is likely to see them focus on at least one addition in the front court.

It is also believed that there could be an effort to bring in Phoenix Suns outcast Marcin Gortat but that is yet to be official confirmed. The club without a doubt are most likely to chase a forward or center before the end of the trade window.
