The Dwight Howard saga continues to reign supreme in Los Angeles as the Lakers continue to struggle to assert their talent and impose any type of dominance that they once had on the Western Conference. According to reports from CBS Sports on Jan. 29, 2013, it appears that one of their stars is potentially looking for a way out of Hollywood.
It is believed that forward Pau Gasol is close to requesting a trade away from the team as he is not happy with a bench role behind Howard as he has still had the better numbers this season.
Gasol has been the more dominant big man on the team, but despite all the rumors that he could be wanting out, CBS Sports were told by the player in regards to him requesting a trade:
Not yet. I don't think now is the time for that step to happen. Right now I'm very focused and committed to our team.
Meaning one of two things, either he would rather wait until the summer to move on depending on what Dwight Howard decides to do, or it is simply a cover up to mask the fact that he indeed is ready to pack his backs and get off of the sinking that is the current Lakes team.
