Former top draft pick Greg Oden has seen more injury time than many players would ever want to return from. However, that is just what looks to be happening. According to David Aldridge of NBA.com on Jan. 17, 2013, the majority of the speculation is in regards to the Miami Heat but there are still other teams that could offer a compelling place for Oden to start over.
The Dallas Mavericks are another great potential location for Oden to make a return to action as are more that Aldridge mentions without name:
I think a lot of teams are going to take a look at Greg Oden next summer, but no one team tops his list, including the Heat. Oden is not even going to start compiling a list of teams until he is 100 percent healthy. If he can't get there, he won't come back. Too many false starts, one source with knowledge of Oden's plans said late last week. There is no timeline.
The previous return to action by Oden while still with the Portland Trail Blazers looked to have been premature as he never truly allowed his injuries to heal completely and it only caused him to have that much more injury trouble once again.
Oden however, is not thought to be looking at a return until he knows his body is ready for the tough and grueling test that he already has learned that the NBA places on its top players. With Aldridge's claims that he may not return at all without that happening only keeps the rumor mill going about the, "what if," possibilities of the whole situation.
