NBA Trade Rumors: Atlanta Hawks to chase Los Angeles Laker Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard's move to the Los Angeles Lakers was supposed to be the move of the season. However, he looks to be already tired of the limelight in LA according to IBTimes Sports on Jan. 18, 2013, with the Lakers having one of the worst starts to a season in years.

IBT are reporting that the Atlanta Hawks could be interested in trying to trade recently outcast Josh Smith and others for a chance to bring Howard back to his hometown of Atlanta with the hope of signing him to a long term contract in the summer.

However, that could prove just as hard of a task as it was for the player himself to get out of Orlando. The Hawks are set to have a load of salary cap room after this season and could offer Howard a massive new deal, but it remains to be seen just what they will try and do.

Howard is most likely to remain in LA until the end of the season where he will shop the market and the Lakers will be forced to accept that all the hard work they put into bringing him to the team did not automatically make them untouchable.
