The Atlanta Hawks made a statement with the one game suspension they handed out to 27-year-old Josh Smith. Smith leads the Hawks in scoring at 16.6 points per game but despite him not wanting to leave he is thought to be on the trading block according to CBS Sports as of Jan. 18, 2013.
Atlanta Hawks General Manager, Danny Ferry is believed to be looking to make a solid trade before the late February trade deadline, and Smith could be the man sent packing no matter his own stance on the matter.
Smith's agent, Wallace Prather claims that clubs are interested in the player as claimed by Ken Berger, and he could command a decent asking offer before it is all over with.
The player will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the current season, and with the Hawks looking to make sure they add value before he could leave for nothing, the recent bust up with the team could be perfect fuel to the fire.
