Tonight's 2014 NBA Draft is looking to be one of the most active in recent history. With the recent contract opt out announcements of marquee players Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony, teams from coast to coast are making moves to open up cap room and add young talent, hoping to make a run at the All NBA Players. This years freshman crop is one of the deepest in recent years. One such stand out is NCAA Player of the Year Doug McDermott.
At 6 foot 8 inches he will see most of his time at the forward positions. Many scouts are curious which forward slot Doug will be best utilized at but with his skill it's no question he'll be in the mix. Coming into the pros as a 4 yr. senior Doug brings 2 traits that translate well into the NBA. Experience and shooting. Let me state this again. If you've never seen Doug the man can shoot like you wouldn't believe. You can see the chart here for a % break down of what he can do but along with that it's always great to see the player in action while having some fun as well.
Doug teamed up with everyone's favorite candy M&M's for a special game of Horse. The concept of the game was "1 in a 100." M&M's peanut selective process averages out to 1 out of 100 peanuts being qualified to actually become an M&M. With Doug's assistance they illustrate the concept of 1 sticking out of the masses as McDermott delivers a wild array of trick shots against 99 everyday citizens. It's a fun event yet fully shows just how high the quality of Doug's shooting is.
Early projections have the talents big man landing mid-way through the lottery so you can expect to be seeing a lot of Mr McDermott in the future of the NBA.
