After being charged with a flagrant 2 foul on Kevin Love driving to the basket, Matt Barnes was fined by the NBA for failing to leave the court in a timely manner.

Barnes was called for the flagrant in the third quarter of the Clippers vs. Minnesota game on Sunday night. Barnes was shocked that he was fined $25,000 by the league on Monday afternoon.

The league did afford him one slight favor, when they downgraded the penalty from a flagrant 2 to a flagrant 1 foul.

Barnes tweeted out, "I appreciate the @NBA reviewing that call & downgrading the flagrant 2 to a flagrant 1. Clearly I shouldn't have been thrown out of the game last night, BUT since I WAS thrown out, I ask for an explanation on the call & I get fined 25k???"

Barnes will available to play on Christmas night against the Golden State Warriors in Oakland.

Doc Rivers recalled the play on Sunday night, and was adamant that Barnes shouldn't have been charged with a flagrant foul at all.

The Clippers can focus on their next two road games with their players in tow including Barnes.
