The NBA schedule 2014 live stream and TV games on Friday include a doubleheader of action from the hardwood on ESPN. In the game, the Los Angeles Clippers will pay a visit to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, to attempt to continue their playoff push. The Knicks, who are on the outside looking in, will try to snag a much-needed home win against a team without its star point guard. The latest televised and live stream NBA game on the schedule arrives from various ESPN sources on Friday evening.
According to a Jan. 16 USA Today report, the Clippers have recently added to their roster while they await Chris Paul’s recovery and return to the court. Forward Hedo Terkoglu signed with the team according to his own Twitter message which made it official to fans on Tuesday. Turkoglu spent most of his career playing for the Orlando Magic. The 13-year-veteran is a career 43% shooter who has averaged 11.9 points per game. Turkoglu hasn’t played since Feb. 4 last year against the Sixers.
Turkoglu told the official Clippers website about his reaction to joining the team:
"It feels great. I’m really excited, a little bit nervous. It's a new chapter for me. This is my 14th year and I'm just really happy to be a part of this great organization."
He’ll join a relatively-deep Clippers squad that is looking to remain among the top four teams in the Western Conference. The team is currently 27-13 overall, but just 9-10 on the road. However, their latest opponents, the Knicks have struggled for the first part of their season. New York is 15-24 overall and just 7-12 on their home court, a place they’ll need to start racking up wins if they want to advance to the playoffs.
The ESPN.com website notes that these two teams previously met back on Nov. 27, 2013 where the Clippers won 93-80 behind 15 points each from J.J. Reddick and current leading Clippers scorer, Blake Griffin. The Knicks will attempt to rebound from a 32 point loss at Indiana this past Thursday. In that game, New York shot 40 percent from the field. New York is 6-4 in their last 10 games, while the Clippers are a bit better at 7-3. They’ll continue on a road trip on the East after this game, which includes a matchup with the top team overall, the Indiana Pacers.
For tonight’s game, the away team comes in as the favorite. The LA Clippers are favored by 4 points over the Knicks at most sports books. The over/under points total opened at 197-1/2 points and has since risen to 201-1/2 points at the various books. Notable injuries include Clippers guard Chris Paul who is still recovering from a separated shoulder injury, as well as several Knicks players who are “day-to-day” including Tyson Chandler, Kenyon Martin and Amar’e Stoudemire.
Friday night's first game of the doubleheader featuring the Clippers vs. Knicks has a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The game will be televised in standard and hi-definition formats on ESPN. In addition, this game will be live streaming online through the WatchESPN broadband sports network.
