The NBA schedule 2013 live stream and TV games on the slate for opening night will include a battle between the two Los Angeles teams, as part of the TNT doubleheader. The L.A. Clippers will face the L.A. Lakers in a city rivalry that has extended for many seasons, however the faces continue to change. This year's matchup will see the Clippers with new coach Doc Rivers, and the Lakers without Dwight Howard. Kobe Bryant will also be M.I.A. as he recovers from his season-ending injury and surgery that happened late last season. Tonight's Clippers vs. Lakers game will be presented via the TNT network.
According to ESPN.com in their Oct. 29 game report, the Lakers will step on the court without Kobe Bryant, whom was lost to a torn Achilles right before the 2013 playoffs. The Lakers were then eliminated from the postseason by the veteran San Antonio Spurs, despite having the services of Steve Nash, Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. Nash remains on the squad, while Howard left for the Houston Rockets, still searching for that elusive championship. While many analysts and Lakers fans were expecting another title for Los Angeles last season, those hopes were dashed, and now fans are just hoping for Kobe to eventually return to form. Nash said of the way this team is being viewed and how they feel:
"It's really important for us to embrace these low expectations, try to find a chemistry and build ourselves into a team that has some confidence.
We may not be as talented at the top like last year, but I think we got younger, more athletic with more shooters who can space the floor."
To start off their season, the Lakers will be at home, although the Staples center also serves as a home court for the Clippers. The Clippers have recently become the top team in Los Angeles, and will look to open the season with yet another win over the Lakers. Not only will it be important to get the early win, but Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, among others, will be in search of a championship for their team. To add to the talent pool on their roster, the team added J.J. Redick, Jared Dudley, Byron Mullens and Darren Collison. Chris Paul also just inked a $107 million contract extension over the offseason, and with a new coach to guide him, it could be a better result in this year's postseason for the new L.A. power squad.
Odds makers have given the Clippers the edge to win tonight over the "Kobe-less" Lakers. The point spread currently sits at as much as ten points at different sports books. The over/under for combined points in the game is set to 199 1/2 to 201 at various books. As mentioned, the only notable injury being reported is that of Kobe Bryant who definitely will not be on the court tonight.
Tonight's Clippers vs. Lakers game has a scheduled TV start time of 10:30 p.m. EST. The game is set to be shown live on TNT for cable and satellite viewers. In addition, TNT has "TNT Overtime" which will be live streaming the game.
