NBA power rankings 2/13: Eastern Conference

The Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat continue to be the class of the Eastern Conference. Jeremy Lin-led New York Knicks have made headlines in the last week with their play.

Where do the teams rank in the latest Eastern Conference power rankings?

  1. (previous rank: 1) Chicago Bulls (23-7) – In five starts this season, C.J. Watson is averaging 15.6 points and 6.4 assists.
  2. (2) Miami Heat (21-7) – The Heat leads the NBA in field goal percentage (48.3).
  3. (4) Philadelphia 76ers (19-9) – Andre Iguodala deserves to be in the All-Star game.
  4. (5) Atlanta Hawks (18-10) – Josh Smith has only attempted 24 3-pointers this season. 
  5. (3) Indiana Pacers (17-10) – The Pacers play their back-to-back-to-back this week, against the Heat (home), Cavaliers (away), and Nets (home).  
  6. (6) Boston Celtics (15-12) – Ray Allen is shooting 35 percent on 3s in February.
  7. (7) Orlando Magic (17-11) – Dwight Howard is shooting 60.6 percent on free throws in February.
  8. (11) New York Knicks (13-15) –  In four starts, Jeremy Lin is averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 assists and 2.0 steals.
  9. (8) Milwaukee Bucks (12-15) – Drew Gooden's February: 18.6 points and 6.9 rebounds.
  10. (9) Cleveland Cavaliers (10-16) – A concussion has unfortunately stalled Kyrie Irving's superb rookie season.
  11. (13) Detroit Pistons (8-21) – Greg Monroe's February: 21.9 points on 60.5 percent shooting, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.8 steals.
  12. (12) Toronto Raptors (9-20) – Jose Calderon scored 30 points and had six assists against the Lakers on Sunday.
  13. (10) New Jersey Nets (8-21) - The Nets are 1-8 in last nine games.
  14. (14) Washington Wizards (6-22) – Rashard Lewis became the third player in NBA history to record 15,000 points, 5,000 rebounds and 1,500 3-pointers made.
