With the Miami Heat awaiting the winner in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Pacers and Wizards battle it out Game 6 tonight on ESPN (national TV) and ESPN-GO (free live stream online). According to a May 15 AP Sports report, opening tipoff is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET (7:10 p.m. CT/5:10 p.m. PT) following the conclusion of NBA Countdown.

The Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. will be filled with an anxious crowd, as the Washington Wizards try to fight off elimination at the hands of the Indiana Pacers for a second straight game. Indy comes leading the series 3-2 and with home-court advantage on their side, Game 7 would be played Sunday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

For the Indiana, Candace Buckner of USA Today points to rebounding as the key statistic to close out tonight’s series on the road. Indiana is coming off an embarrassing, 102-79, performance in Game 5, as the top-seeded Pacers were severely outrebounded, 62-23.

For the fifth-seeded Wizards, a May 14 Washington-Post column sheds light on the great coaching job Randy Wittman has done for this season. Claiming that (owner) Ted Leonsis might have found the coach he’d been looking for, the Wizards appear to be in good hands heading into the future.

But before Wittman’s team can force a Game 7, which will take place just 10 miles from where he played his high school ball at Ben Davis High, the Wizards have to find a way to survive Game 6. If NBA playoff oddsmakers at ESPN are on the right track, Washington should live to fight another day and take Indiana the distance in this best-of-seven series.

Point spreads for tonight’s Game 6 have the Wizards [-4] as four-point favorites versus the Pacers [+4] and the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 180½ points. Finally, straight-up betting lines have Washington valued at -183, while Indiana’s odds of an upset stand at +163.
