Another exciting day filled with 2014 NBA playoffs action tips off with Game 4 of the best-of-seven series between the (1-2) Indiana Pacers and (2-1) Atlanta Hawks. Philips Arena in Atlanta, Ga., will host this first-round Eastern Conference showdown, which has a TV scheduled start time of 2:10 p.m. EST (1:10 p.m. CST/12:10 p.m. MST/11:10 a.m. PST) on TNT Sports (national broadcast) and online at TNT Overtime (free live stream).

As detailed in an ESPN report on Friday, April 25, 2014, Indiana went into this year’s postseason bringing up the rear, and has not been able to turn the corner through three games. With his head-coaching job on the line, how will Frank Vogel respond after the top-seeded Pacers were humiliated by the Atlanta faithful, who serenaded them with chants of “Overrated!” their last time out?

If NBA oddsmakers are correct, the Indiana Pacers will be singing “Redemption Songs” at night’s end. According to the latest Las Vegas point spreads, Indiana [-3] comes into this game as the favorites to even the series at two wins apiece on Atlanta’s [+3] home-court.

Just three points separate these teams in the ATS department, and the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 187 points. Finally, most sportsbooks in the world calculate the Pacers’ straight-up value at -141, while the Hawks’ odds of a Game 4 upset tally +121.

However, Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution makes a very interesting point in an April 25, 2014, report. In his Hawks Blog, he points to three keys to Atlanta’s victory in Game 3: The Hawks ability to hit the longball, defensive intensity and the official’s (replay) reviews.

There’s no question that if Atlanta can have a repeat performance in two of those three categories, and with a little bit of luck on their side, they will be very tough to beat. Having that said, taking one look at the latest betting statistics, those numbers tell a very compelling story:
