NBA playoff standings 2014 news has the New York Knicks sneaking into the eighth spot now. The updated 2014 NBA playoff standings have the Knicks catching the Atlanta Hawks thanks to a win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night (April 2). The 110-81 blowout helped the team moved past the Hawks due to percentage points and it continues an amazing run the team has had.

Updated Draft Order

The Miami Heat lead the East now with a 52-22 record. They are just ahead of the No. 2 seeded 53-23 Indiana Pacers due to percentages at this point. Then comes the 43-32 Toronto Raptors and 43-32 Chicago Bulls as the next two seeded teams and all four have already clinched a spot in the postseason. The No. 5 Brooklyn Nets are 40-34, the No. 6 Washington Wizards are 39-36, and the No. 7 Charlotte Bobcats are 37-38. Due to how the games have played out this week, Washington and Brooklyn have also clinched the postseason. At No. 8 are the 33-43 Knicks and at No. 9 are the 32-42 Hawks.

The Western Conference now has the 58-16 San Antonio Spurs holding the best record in the league with an 18-game winning streak in the latest 2014 NBA playoff standings. The Oklahoma City Thunder sit 3 1/2 games back at 54-19 and the LA Clippers are 5 1/2 games back at 53-22. All three teams have also clinched a spot in the postseason now. Behind the three top teams are the 49-25 Houston Rockets at No. 4, the 49-27 Portland Trail Blazers at No. 5, and the 46-28 Golden State Warriors at No. 6. The 44-30 Phoenix Suns have shot up to the No. 7 spot and are just ahead of the No. 8 Dallas Mavericks at 44-31 as well. The No. 9 team is currently the 43-31 Memphis Grizzlies, showing how close things have become.
