The Lamar Odom saga continues with the former Sixth Man of the Year continuing to grace the national headlines for all the wrong reasons. Early on Friday, Aug. 30, Odom was arrested for DUI after being pulled over on the 101 freeway for going too slow via TMZ.com:
According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept., Odom was released from custody at 8:33 AM. However, it's unclear if Odom has actually left the station yet.
Over the past few weeks, Odom has been in the news for varies things. Odom has been reportedly abusing serious drugs and also went missing for three days earlier this week.
The two-time NBA champion has been going through yet another rough patch in his very public life. His marriage with reality star, Khloe Kardashian, has been spiraling out of control amid rumors of an affair while the NBA veteran has been gauging interest around the league in his services.
Although Odom has been a train wreck as of late, the former Los Angeles Lakers forward has received interest from both the Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers appeared to be the team Odom would ultimately sign with, but the two sides were never able to come to an agreement for whatever reason.
As for the Lakers, the storied franchise showed considerable interest in a reunion with Odom before seemingly settling on rookie forward Elias Harris formerly of Gonzaga. Although the Lakers still have a roster spot available and the team has been rumored to still be considering Odom, the Lakers have apparently passed on the opportunity to bring him back.
