After an eye-opening presentation at E3, EA Sports has been relatively quiet about NBA Live 14. The lack of information regarding the upcoming NBA simulation might have gamers skeptical of whether or not the game will actually release. Now that the PlayStation 4 has an official release date, EA Sports has revealed information about a new game mode. In an attempt to counter NBA 2Ks famed and ever-advancing MyPlayer mode, NBA Live 14 will feature Rising Star, a mode that allows player to take their individual created-player through a career in the NBA.
Similar to the Rookie Showcase in NBA 2K, NBA Live 14 will put players on the court to prove themselves in what will be called the EA Sports Draft Showcase. Partnering with Under Armour, EA Sports will include an exclusive Under Armour court in the game as well as integrating the Under Armour Elite 24 event into the game. Players will begin by establishing rank through the pre-draft showcase. After establishing a reputation, weather excellent or poor, players will go through a 25 year career, from a young role-player to veteran all-star.
The partnership between EA Sports and Under Armour extends outside of the video game as well. Continuing the heavy push to reestablish NBA Live as a credible NBA simulator, EA Sports will be a key partner to the actual Under Armour Elite 24 event that will be held at the Tobacco Factory in Brooklyn, New York on August 23rd and 24th. Expect to hear more news from EA Sports as the PS4 and NBA Live 14 releases draw nearer.
