EA's NBA Live 14 released a brand new gameplay video today that is supposed to show off what the game will look like on next generation consoles. Unfortunately for Electronic Arts and the NBA Live developers, the video seems to just show how far behind the NBA 2K series it has fallen.
NBA Live 14 producers have been forthcoming about the fact that they know they have some ground to cover in the basketball video game race. When compared side by side to the NBA 2K14 next generation gameplay trailer that was released earlier this week, that ground hasn't quite been covered yet.
While Internet fanboys are not always the best judge of what will or won't make a successful games, the comments that have accompanied the video doesn't seem to bode well for a franchise that is trying to get up off the mat.
Both games are still getting quite a bit of hype, because they will likely be the first big time sports games that pop up on the next generation consoles. If the first two entries of the basketball video games series for Xbox One and Playstation 4 are any indication, 2K games is going to continue to be the undisputed king of this genre.
